The Big Deal Company team was honored to be the event planning partners for the Grand Opening of the new Mountain Mist Spas location at Larkridge The Village in Thornton, held on Saturday, July 8! This event promised to be a celebration of relaxation, luxury, and anticipation for an additional location for Mountain Mist Spas, who have been serving Northern Colorado for 40 years. Our team worked hard to offer an event experience that would captivate and engage visitors while leaving a lasting impression to bring them back for more! Let’s dive in and recap the highlights of this memorable occasion! A Celebration! This grand opening spared no expense in creating an inviting and immersive ambiance. As guests stepped through the balloon-clad doorway, they were greeted by the soothing sounds of tranquil waterfalls and soft lighting that set the relaxing tone. The showroom was decorated with balloons of blue, and the many hot tubs on display were lit up and running, showcasing their versatility and luxurious features. Big Deal Team members encouraged guests to register to win one of the many high-end prizes on display - including a Big Green Egg Smoker/Grill (valued at over $1700!). Attendees were also invited to press their luck with a Spin-to-Win game that partnered Hot Tub Trivia with fun lottery ticket prizes. Guests were also treated to a bountiful buffet of delicious treats provided by The Front Range Catering Company. The spread included Sushi Rolls, Twice Baked Potato Bites, Bacon-Wrapped Dates, Mini-Cheesecakes and a colorful Donut Wall. Knowledgeable spa specialists were present throughout the event, offering personalized consultations for inquiring customers. We were thrilled to be asked back as event support for the community-centric and summer-favorite Meals on 4th event, benefitting the work and mission of Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud. Our team of professional event experts worked alongside the Development and Program Directors of this downtown Loveland nonprofit to plan a fabulous evening full of food, fun, and FUNdraising, right in the heart of downtown Loveland! This event takes place entirely outside, in the middle of 4th Street in the city block between Cleveland and Railroad. The planning for this event began back in January when streets were covered with snow and ice. It’s always a little stressful to work around what Mother Nature decides to do, but this year’s event - although smack dab in the middle of our Colorado Monsoons - was met with an absolutely gorgeous late Spring Colorado Day full of sunshine, blue skies, and comfortable temperatures! This event captured the essence of generosity, community spirit, and philanthropy that is so prevalent in the Loveland and Berthoud communities. It was a huge success - surpassing Meals on Wheels’ fundraising goals, and bringing people from all walks of life together to support such a worthy cause! Guests celebrated in style! Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud is celebrating 55 years of service in Southern Larimer County. Their year-long celebration was weaved throughout this event, boasting an atmosphere of a 1950s/1960s soda shop diner. Our team of event planners and the Meals on Wheels volunteers worked some decorative magic, creating an enchanting ambiance with period decorations and flair. Each table was adorned with a checkerboard runner, real vinyl records, and floral arrangements designed to look like ice cream sundaes! Guests were encouraged to dress up in period costumes, and musical guests, The Steve Manshel Trio set the mood with period tunes from the 1950s and 1960s. A True Expression of Community This unique fundraising event is built on a large amount of community involvement. Guests are treated to a multi-course meal, with each course provided by a different local restaurant and drinks donated by local breweries and bars.We were honored to serve alongside the following Restaurant and Brewery Partners:
The event program focused on stories of hope and inspiration - told by a longtime Meals on Wheels Volunteer and Executive Director, Jeffrey Pomranka. To further boost the evening’s fundraising efforts, local auctioneers led a special Heads or Tails game where attendees competed to win a special Date Night Air BnB package that included an overnight stay at a Downtown Arts District Bungalow and local restaurant and drink gift cards. The evening concluded with a very successful Paddle Raise, collecting $23,600 in support of Meals on Wheels food and programs! Thanks to the collective efforts of Mother Nature, the organization, vendors, volunteers, and the generosity of the community, Meals on 4th exceeded all expectations! The success of the evening will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the ability of Meals on Wheels to make a difference in the lives of more homebound individuals - feeding and supporting our community for generations to come! Maybe you are really organized... Maybe you are surrounded with helpful people. While there is no question that organizational skills and reliable friends can aid in an event's success - there is nothing like having a professional team to ensure your event is successful and stress free. With over 160 years of combined experience on our event planning team, we have compiled a number of memorable 'Event Planner to the Rescue' moments during our time working together. So many popped up that we had to make this a multi-part blog! Examples of how we have saved the day at events: - Guest Book Tree: Some over-served guests at a wedding decided to create their own art masterpiece and ruin a bride & groom's tree stump guest book. We jumped into action, had the guests removed, and came up with an alternative guest book to capture the day. - Safety Pins: We have them in our emergency kits and need these at every other event. We can't tell you how often there is a fabric emergency that requires a safety pin! - Cabs/Uber: We have called countless car services to get guests home safely. 50% of our own planning team have actually been designated drivers at client events when a car service wasn't available. - Bubbles: Can't get kiddos down the aisle? We can, and have. We carry bubbles in our emergency kits. Little kids who are too small to be predictable in a wedding party will make it down the aisle if bubble are available! - Vodka Run: We have planned countless events where the amount of alcohol the client provided was underestimated and BIG DEAL ran to the liquor store to pick up more. Booze, juice boxes, ice.... you name it. We are often the wheels and credit cards behind the scenes so your fun isn't interrupted. - Bussing tables: We aren't caterers, but you would never know it. If your caterer doesn't have enough hands, or you ordered 'drop & go catering' without realizing that you need someone to serve the food and clean up.... we are often in the background, cleaning up. - Pen for marriage certificate: You just said I do. You need to make it official. Who has the marriage certificate? Who has a pen to sign it? We do. We even bring a 'pretty pen' which you would prefer to have in photographs over that pen with your realtor's address on it. -Sewing kit repairs: Our emergency kits includes a sewing kit... and yes, we have run out of thread!
