Connecting Communities: Regional Partners Announce Celebration for Poudre River Trail Milestone5/12/2026 TIMNATH, COLORADO, May 12, 2026 - While the final Poudre River Trail segment is still undergoing the last components of construction and remains closed, Northern Colorado agency partners invite the community to mark their calendars for Saturday, June 13, 2026, to join a celebratory event, officially recognizing the final connection of the Poudre River Trail. The event “Connecting Communities - The Poudre River Trail Celebration” will highlight the soon-to-be-completed 45 miles of continuous, paved, multi-use trail from Bellvue (west of Fort Collins) to Greeley.
The free event recognizes more than 50 years of vision, collaboration and investment among local governments, agencies, funders and community partners who worked together to create this fully connected regional trail corridor along the Poudre River. The public event, hosted at Timnath Community Park, begins at 9 a.m. with official remarks and ceremony. In place of a traditional ribbon-cutting, partner organizations will symbolically connect ribbon pieces, representing the many communities and collaborators who contributed to the 45-mile Poudre River Trail. This will be followed by a community celebration from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., featuring partner booths, family-friendly activities, food trucks and opportunities for residents and trail users to celebrate and experience the corridor’s newest and final connection between Larimer and Weld counties. In addition to the central event at Timnath Community Park, signage and photo opportunities will be available at Lions Open Space (2425 N. Overland Trail in Laport) and Island Grove (501 N. 14th Avenue in Greeley) marking the near-end points of the trail route. Celebratory markers along the trail will also help recognize the new continuous connection and invite the public to experience it as a shared regional resource. The approximately 45-mile paved, multi-use corridor will soon connect northern Colorado communities from Bellvue to Greeley, linking parks, open spaces, neighborhoods and regional destinations. The final connection represents a significant regional milestone and reflects a long-standing commitment to collaborative planning, funding and implementation across multiple jurisdictions. This regional event is a collaboration between Larimer County, the City of Fort Collins, the Town of Windsor, the Town of Timnath and the City of Greeley, made possible through the generous support of our event sponsors, including Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO), the Colorado Lottery, and the Friends of Larimer County. All community members, families, trail users, stakeholders and supporters from across the region are encouraged to attend. While impressions, page views, and clicks are still valuable metrics, visibility alone doesn’t build loyalty in today’s marketplace – and it can’t sustain growth on its own. At BIG DEAL Company, we know the long-term top brands aren’t just seen over and over, they are experienced – they are part of something bigger, and that thing is “community.” Visibility is momentary. Community = relationships. We would never say attention is “bad” in marketing, but attention can be fleeting. Impressions are just one part of a healthy marketing ecosystem that also includes engagement, especially relationships with current and potential buyers or donors. Even wildly successful marketing campaigns fade quickly without connection (Think: the products that trend on social media, sell out in hours, and are forgotten within a year.) Community-centered brands take a different approach, building relationships over time through shared experiences, authentic communication, and meaningful engagement. Events, partnerships, and storytelling are not just tactics – they are the foundation of long-term success. As we shared in Building Buzz: Event Marketing that Delivers Long-Term Engagement, events are most powerful when they are not treated as one-time moments, but as part of a symbiotic marketing approach that keeps audiences engaged long after the event ends. The Shift from Transactions to Relationships In today’s marketing world, transactions aren’t the issue for consumers – everything we need or want is available online with a quick search and one-click ordering. When finding the product or service customers need is easy, consumers shift their focus from simply finding the item they are looking for to seeking out brands that foster alignment, trust, and belonging. Community-driven brands:
This kind of engagement can’t happen with a single campaign. It is built intentionally through numerous small and large interactions over time. Events play a critical role in this process, too – they create real, human moments that strengthen emotional ties and give people a reason to stay connected. The most effective brands use a combination of events, partnerships, and communications to turn visibility into lasting relationships. Events: A Shared Experience Events create something an experience people can feel, share, and remember. When integrated into a broader marketing strategy, they become ongoing engagement tools that fuel year-round connection and content. Partnerships: Giving Back and Expanding Community Strong brands don’t grow in isolation. They collaborate with organizations, nonprofits, and community leaders to expand their reach and deepen their impact. In fact, much of what makes our campaigns successful is the network behind them: trusted partners, vendors, and collaborators who help bring our and clients’ ideas to life. As we explored in Why Businesses are Calling BIG DEAL Company for Full-Circle Event & Marketing Support, these relationships are not an add-on; they are central to how we create meaningful outcomes. Communications: Keeping the Connection Alive Strategic communication – email, social media, storytelling – extends the life of every interaction. It reinforces your message, builds familiarity, and keeps your audience engaged over time. Together, these elements create a continuous cycle: marketing drives event attendance, events create buzz, and that buzz fuels future engagement. Community Impact is Brand Impact As a brand, engaging with your community is rewarding – it feels good. The icing on the cake is that it grows your business. Businesses that actively give back and engage locally build stronger trust, deeper relationships, and more resilient brands. Things like hosting community events, sponsoring community events, collaborating with local organizations or other businesses, and supporting causes have a lasting impact. In Top 10 Ways Your Business Can Give Back to the Community, we highlight how even small, consistent efforts, such as partnering with local groups or maintaining regular communication, can significantly strengthen community ties. When businesses show up for their communities, their communities show up for them. How BIG DEAL Helps Brands Connect At Big Deal Company, we see marketing, events, and communications as one connected system – not separate services. We ask:
When people feel like they “belong” to your brand, they don’t just support it; they advocate for it. Our approach is rooted in connection. We don’t just make your brand visible – we create experiences that make your message felt. If your brand is ready to move beyond impressions and into impact, it’s time to think bigger with a full marketing and events plan. We help businesses and organizations:
For business and nonprofit marketing and event news and tips, follow BIG DEAL Company on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. Frequently Asked Questions 1. Why isn’t visibility enough to grow a brand? Visibility creates awareness, but it doesn’t build trust or loyalty on its own. Without ongoing engagement and meaningful interaction, audiences are unlikely to stay connected. Community-building strategies ensure your brand remains relevant beyond the first impression. 2. How do events contribute to long-term growth? Events create memorable, in-person (or virtual) experiences that foster emotional connections. When paired with strong pre- and post-event marketing, they become part of a continuous engagement strategy rather than a one-time effort. 3. What role do brand partnerships play in building community? Partnerships expand your reach and credibility by aligning your brand with others that share similar values. They also help you tap into existing communities, making it easier to build trust and create collaborative experiences. 4. How can a small business start building community? Start by showing up consistently: host small events, engage on social media, collaborate with local organizations, and support community initiatives. Even simple, authentic efforts can create meaningful connections over time. Follow us on social media for event highlights, creative inspiration, marketing tips, and updates on our latest projects.

Events can be powerful engines that fuel ongoing engagement, build deeper relationships with stakeholders, and amplify your brand throughout the year. At BIG DEAL Company, we help our marketing and events clients turn every event into a dynamic piece of a larger, integrated marketing ecosystem that keeps audiences connected long after the lights go down. Events as Cornerstones of Your Marketing Plan Whether you’re planning a large community festival, a client appreciation reception, or a donor coffee, events have an undeniable ability to draw attention, spark conversations, and create memorable experiences. But their power doesn’t stop at the event itself – when thoughtfully woven into your marketing strategy, events become catalysts for year-long engagement. Events give people something to experience – meaningful moments that strengthen emotional ties to your brand. Marketing gives people a reason to show up in the first place – and keeps them involved long after. Together, they form a symbiotic relationship that drives higher visibility, stronger loyalty, and better results. Small Events, Big Returns You don’t need a massive budget to achieve a high return on event investment. In fact, more frequent, smaller events were a top driver of engagement and, for businesses, sales, as reported by Cvent in 2025. In an Outlook on Events 2025 report, 72% of in-house marketers stated that events were their company’s most effective marketing channel. Simple, inexpensive events like cause marketing activations, community coffee hours, or donor appreciation gatherings can be incredibly effective when paired with smart marketing:
These small but impactful touchpoints strengthen relationships and continuously feed your marketing channels with engaging, authentic content, instead of “fluff.” Marketing Makes Every Event Work Harder Annual or recurring events are gold mines for long-term engagement because they give your audience something to look forward to each year. They are also cost-effective (and have predictable costs) because you do not have to “reinvent the wheel” every time. Regular events allow you to:
The Symbiotic Power of Events + Marketing Events provide the experience – something real and shareable that people remember. Marketing provides the momentum – the strategy to get people there and keep them invested over time. When fused, this partnership creates a feedback loop of anticipation, engagement, and advocacy:
Delivering Joy – and Results At BIG DEAL Company, we believe thoughtful events and smart marketing aren’t separate services; they are integrated experiences that elevate your brand and drive engagement. By treating your goals as our own, we help you craft event-driven marketing programs and marketing-driven event buzz that make every interaction count, strengthen relationships, and build connections that last all year long. For business and nonprofit marketing and event news and tips, follow BIG DEAL Company on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. Frequently Asked Questions 1. Why should events be part of a larger marketing strategy? Events are powerful on their own, but they become significantly more effective when integrated into a comprehensive marketing plan. Marketing builds anticipation before the event, drives attendance, and keeps the conversation going afterward. When events and marketing work together, they create a year-long engagement cycle instead of a one-day experience. 2. Do smaller events really make an impact? Yes. In fact, industry research shows that more frequent, smaller events are a major driver of engagement and sales. Simple gatherings like donor appreciation coffees, cause marketing activations, or community events can deliver strong returns when supported by targeted email campaigns, social media promotion, and strategic follow-up content. Smaller events often create deeper connections at a lower cost. 3. What makes annual or recurring events so valuable? Recurring events help reinforce brand presence and build tradition within your community. They are also cost-effective because planning becomes more streamlined over time. Annual events create consistent marketing opportunities, predictable budgeting, and a reliable touchpoint your audience looks forward to each year. 4. How do events and marketing create long-term engagement together? Events provide the experience: something memorable and shareable. Marketing provides the momentum: the strategy that drives attendance and extends the life of the event. When combined, they create a continuous feedback loop: marketing brings people in, the event generates buzz and content, and that content fuels future marketing efforts. This cycle strengthens relationships and builds lasting brand loyalty. Our clients don’t hire a one-size-fits-all vendor; they get a locally-based strategic partner focused on impact, relationships, and experiences that are meaningful. Here’s why BIG Deal Company is the smarter choice for companies seeking values-based results. A Partnership-First Approach any marketing and events agencies deliver isolated deliverables and then vanish. Your deliverables may be produced by a different employee each time, or worse, by AI. At BIG DEAL, we get to know your team to provide fractional support in marketing, communications, and event execution. Our team spends hours learning your goals and business inside out so we can act as an extension of your organization, not just a hired hand. A “Connected Collective”: Experts Working as a Team Rather than a single specialist or standalone contractor, BIG DEAL Company is a connected collective of experts across marketing, advertising, events, nonprofit leadership, and communications, meeting regularly to share ideas to support your business. This model gives you precisely the right expertise at the right moment, with depth and breadth most agencies can’t match. Joy and Fun, and We Really Mean It We don’t just plan events or implement campaigns, we bring joy and authenticity to everything we do. It isn’t just work for us, it’s fulfillment. Our personality shows in how we work, how we communicate, and how your audience experiences your brand. This emotional connection differentiates us from companies that never live their brand values. Details that Deliver Success Great ideas are nothing without execution. At BIG DEAL, operational precision is non-negotiable. From timelines and permits to vendor alignment and power needs, we handle every logistical detail so your events run “like clockwork.” With decades of experience and over 100 events delivered annually, we see and solve issues before they become problems - and when the unexpected happens, we handle it behind the scenes, so you can enjoy your event. Colorado Community Credibility Our team is locally embedded in Colorado and deeply plugged into regional resources, vendors, and community leaders. That means recommendations, introductions, and relationships that literally can’t be bought – but come standard with a BIG DEAL partnership. Whether it’s venue insights or nonprofit allies, our community credibility accelerates your success. Genuine Marketing in an AI Era Digital marketing today has to be more than “posting and hoping.” We build strategic communication plans that span SEO (search engine optimization), AEO (answer engine optimization), GEO (local geographical optimization), and AI-era content strategies. We understand how content gets surfaced, and how to make it work for you, not just for the search engines. We’re not scared of AI; we put it to work for us, boosting our efficiency without allowing it to diminish the quality of our work - work only real people can produce. Recognition and Real Results Our reputation isn’t built on buzzwords or an AI-generated website – it’s backed by awards, strong reviews, and measurable results. From nonprofit fundraising success to corporate retreats and community festivals, clients see real impact, and that’s what matters most. They’re the cozy coffee shops that remember your order, the boutiques that stock one-of-a-kind finds, and the service providers who go above and beyond because your business truly matters to them. At BIG DEAL Company, we proudly support and amplify the work of small businesses every day – and we’re here to let you in on a little secret: Supporting a small business doesn’t have to cost a thing. In a world where many marketing efforts come with a price tag, there are powerful, totally free ways you can help a local business grow. Here are some BIG ways to make a difference – for free! 1. Write a review It’s quick, it’s easy, and it’s highly influential. According to a recent survey, 93% of customers read online reviews before making a purchase. Whether you use Google, Facebook, Yelp, or another industry-specific platform, your review helps potential customers feel confident about choosing that business. A thoughtful review boosts visibility and adds trust. 2. Make a referral Word-of-mouth marketing still reigns supreme, and it’s absolutely free. Tell your friends, coworkers, and family members about the businesses you love. Recommend your favorite photographer when someone needs headshots, or suggest that fantastic taco truck for a corporate lunch. Every referral extends the business’s reach beyond its own audience, and that matters more than you know. Bonus points: Tag them when someone asks for recommendations on social media. 3. Follow them on social media Effortless and effective – follow their page or profile on social media. Businesses use social media to connect with their audiences, announce new products, share behind-the-scenes content, and celebrate wins. When you follow, like, comment, or share their posts, you’re helping them reach more people organically. Algorithms love engagement, which means your one click can lead to dozens of new views. 4. Share their content If you love what a business posts, don’t just like it – share it. Sharing their content on your feed, stories, or groups exposes the business to an entirely new audience. Think of it as giving them free advertising with little effort to you. 5. Engage with their posts Comments, likes, tags, and reactions tell platforms that a business’s content matters. The more engagement they get, the more people the algorithm will show it to. Your quick “LOVE this!” or heart emoji goes further than you may realize. 6. Post about them Take a photo of a product you love, a meal you enjoyed, or a service you received and post it with a tag. That user-generated content not only provides credibility, it tells the world you believe in that business. 7. Attend their events Whether it’s a ribbon-cutting, pop-up, workshop, or grand opening, showing up matters. A crowd helps build buzz, and your presence means the world to an owner who’s poured their heart into that moment. 8. Join their email list Staying connected through newsletters helps them communicate directly with people who care. You might not buy today, but being on that list means you’re part of their community, and that alone has value. Plus, being on the list makes it easy for you to forward sales, promotions, and other info to your social circle. Every single one of these actions (reviews, engagement, referrals, and kindness) creates marketing momentum for businesses. When small businesses grow, our communities grow with them. They hire locally, invest locally, and give back locally. And the best part is, you can make this BIG impact without spending a dime. If you’re a small business looking for more support than what a few reviews or referrals can generate, BIG DEAL Company is here to help you grow – without weighing you down. When businesses give back, they are investing in the social and economic health of the communities that support them. Studies consistently show that community-minded companies enjoy higher customer loyalty, a better reputation, and improved employee retention. Giving back also helps build real relationships, creates goodwill, and can lead to new partnerships and business opportunities. No matter your company’s size, your involvement in the community shows what you value. When people see you as a caring neighbor, they are far more likely to support your business. Here are ten meaningful ways your business can make a difference in your community, along with the benefits you might see in your workplace, brand, and bottom line. 1. Host Employee Volunteer Days Encouraging your team to volunteer together is a rewarding and visible way to give back. Consider dedicating a workday or two each year for employees to help in the community. Whether they sort food at a pantry, clean up parks, or help at a youth center, working together builds teamwork and pride. Companies that support volunteering often see higher morale, better collaboration, and a stronger sense of company culture. It also improves your reputation as a business that supports the community. 2. Offer Donation Matching or Sponsorships Matching employee donations or sponsoring local programs, events, or nonprofits is a simple but effective way to connect with your community. Donation matching shows your business cares about what matters to your employees, and sponsorships help community projects succeed while raising your profile. When your logo appears on local event banners or programs, it reinforces your presence as a community partner. These efforts not only make a difference to the recipients but also remind the public that your business values generosity and shared success. 3. Share Your Expertise or Services In-Kind Giving back is not just about money. Your business can also share its skills, products, or services. Donating your expertise, offering marketing help, lending equipment, or providing discounts can make a big difference for nonprofits and community groups with limited resources. This lets your team show what they do best in real situations. It is a creative way to use your strengths for good, grow your network, and earn recognition from community leaders and potential clients. 4. Open Your Space to the Community If your business has a physical location, consider offering it as a gathering space for community events, meetings, or classes. Hosting workshops, fundraisers, or networking events for local organizations can transform your business into a hub of activity and connection. This type of generosity not only provides valuable space for others but also brings new people into your environment who may later become customers, clients, or partners. Opening your doors to the community shows that your business is approachable, welcoming, and invested in the local ecosystem. 5. Launch a Cause Marketing Campaign A cause marketing campaign lets you connect your business with a charitable cause. For example, you could donate a percentage of sales to a local group or create a special product that supports a specific project. These campaigns help customers feel they are making a difference when they buy from you. When you are open and sincere, cause marketing builds brand loyalty and gives people a reason to choose your business. It is a win-win that creates a positive impact and increases your visibility. 6. Let Employees Lead the Giving Efforts Your employees often have strong connections to local causes that matter deeply to them. Inviting them to nominate organizations, propose volunteer projects, or help direct charitable giving ensures that your company’s efforts feel personal and authentic. When employees feel heard and empowered, they become more invested in the company’s mission. This type of involvement builds pride, teamwork, and a shared sense of purpose, all of which contribute to a positive workplace culture. Giving employees ownership of your company’s community impact also increases participation and enthusiasm for your initiatives. 7. Form Long-Term Community Partnerships Building ongoing partnerships with nonprofits, schools, or civic groups shows you are committed beyond a single donation. Long-term relationships help you build trust, see your impact, and become more involved in the community. For example, your business could sponsor a school’s art program, fund a yearly scholarship, or work with a local charity every year. These partnerships keep your business visible and help you become a key part of the community’s growth and success. 8. Support Education, Mentorship, and Career Development Sharing your expertise through mentorship, workshops, or educational programs helps build a stronger workforce and a better future. Offering internships, hosting student visits, or leading training sessions at local schools lets you make a real difference for others. It also helps your business find and develop new talent. Supporting education shows your company invests in people, skills, and opportunity, which matters to both customers and employees. 9. Commit to Sustainable and Local Business Practices Supporting your community also means caring for the environment and local economy. Buying from local vendors, cutting waste, and using sustainable practices help make your community healthier and stronger. More customers now look for brands that care about the environment and social issues. When your business follows these values, you build a better reputation and attract customers who want to support responsible companies. These steps help the planet and build trust in your brand. 10. Share Your Impact Story When your business gives back, share your story. Post updates about volunteer work, partnerships, or donations on your website, blog, and social media. Sharing your efforts can inspire others and help you connect with your audience. Being open about your community work builds trust and shows you mean what you say. People are more likely to support businesses they are proud of, and honest stories can turn customers into loyal fans. Giving back to the community is more than just a nice gesture. It is a smart and meaningful way to grow your business. When your company supports people, causes, and local projects, you build loyalty and support that money cannot buy. Employees feel proud to work for you, customers respect your values, and partners see you as a trusted collaborator. Today, people want to work with businesses that care about more than just profit. At BIG DEAL Company, we help businesses build real connections through events, partnerships, and community engagement that make a difference.
