Size of the Venue
This seems simple enough but is often overlooked.  You’ll need space that accommodates not only the square footage of your tent but also room for the tent staking and space to allow your guests to move in and out safely.
 
Number of Guests
Nobody wants to have to sit on the lap of their neighbor while watching the bride and groom dance.  Keep your guest list in mind when selecting the right size tent.  When in doubt, go for the larger size just in case.
 
Location and Weather
You’ve spent a lot of time planning your event, don’t let mother nature be your first and last guest.  Should the weather turn stormy will there be room for everyone to stay dry?  Is it a particularly windy area that might call for extra tent staking?  Consider the time of year and location and plan ahead when selecting your tent.

The Vision
It’s your party and it should have your flair.  Whether this means twinkle lights, classic place settings, and roses or a DJ booth, dance floor, and disco ball your vision matters.  Most tent rental companies can accommodate an array of requests if you ask.
 
Feeding the Masses
Factor in space for feeding your guests.  If you’re serving buffet style you’ll need room for long tables, for sit-down you’ll need tables to seat the eaters.  Consider where the food will be held and served and be sure to accommodate both the guests and the food providers.  Even if you’re just planning snacks and a bar, put aside space.
 
Final Considerations
You’ve done it…you have your venue, guest list, and menu set.  What are some last-minute space takers to consider?

• Do you need a sign-in table?
• Will you have a dance floor?
• If you have a DJ, how much space do they need?
• Do you need a table to display information?
